Pacific Rim gets game on iOS and Android

With the recentlaunch of another summer blockbuster movie—Pacific Rim—comes another licensedmovie tie-in game. RelianceGames has releaseda game based on the movie for iOS and Android devices. The game followsthe plot of themovie as players take on therole of the mecha, referred to inthe movie as Jaegers, as they fight off giant alien monsters, dubbed Kaiju.
The game has a very InfinityBlade-styled feel to it, with fightsconsistingof dodging, blockingand swiping to attacks. The InfinityBlade influencecan be seen inany screenshots that show thefights. Other thanthe fights, however, the game seems to be largely menu-driven and seems to lack any of the explorationaspects of Infinity Blade 2.
PacificRim has a bunch of game modes to play: Story Mode and Survival Mode. Story mode, as thename might imply, followsthe plot of themovie as you fightdifferent Kaiju with Jaegers. Survival mode is a gauntlet mode of sorts where players have to keep fighting and surviving against and endless hordes of Kaiju. As players progress through thegame, new combos, and even Jaegers, are unlocked. Players can then customise their Jaeger to suit theirgameplay style with new weapons and technology. The game features five different Jaegers based on the movie. Notably, thegame also includes new events and Jaegers that were not mentioned inthe movie.
PacificRim: The Game costs approximately Rs 280 on bothAndroid and iOS. You can grab thegame from
Google Play or the iTunes App Store. Other titles released by RelianceGames includemovie tie-ins such as the Android and iOS games based on the movies After Earth and Total Recall.
