Reliance slashes 3G data tariffs by half, now offering at 2G prices

Reliance Communication has slashed the price of its 3G data service by almost 50 per cent in India. New 3G plans are now being offered at the rate of 2G data plans. Pre-paid and post-paid both of the customers of the company can avail these new 3G service plans with the updated prices on their 3G connectivity supporting smart devices.
New 3G plans from the company are now offering 1GB data for Rs. 123, 2GBdata for Rs. 246 and 4GB data for Rs. 492 a month. Company has reduced the browsing charges with 3G service to just 3 Paise for 10KB and it is almost half to the other network providers are charging for. Reliance is also offering 1GB of free 3G data per month for 2months to the new customers joining the company using MNP service.
Company said that only one fourth ofthe 3G smartphoneusers in the Indian market are using 3G services on their devices. The main problem is the hugebarrier to affordabilityfor these services. That’s why Reliance has decidedto cut the 3G data prices to the rates of2G services to increase the more users of3G data services in India for the company.
Reliance is currently offeringits 3G services in 13 Telecom Circles in the country. It is trying to attract the 40% smartphone users in the Indian market with its new 3G service plans. The price cut for the 3G data rates by Reliance might also lead to price cut in the 3G services by other Telecom providers in the country.
