Jelly Bean-powered HTC Desire 500 smartphone launched in Taiwan

The HTC Desire 500 smartphone has been officially launched inTaiwan. This Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running smartphonesports a 4.3-inch displayand is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor.
The Desire 500 features thecompany’s Sense 5 UI and BlinkFeed. The latter, for those not inthe know, allows users to stay abreast on everything from breaking news, sports, social netowkrs and more. HTC BlinkFeed brings infresh content from over 1,400 content partners for over 10,000 news feedsper day. Users can customise their own BlinkFeed.
The camera on theHTC Desire 500 smartphonecomes with Rapid Shutter feature that allows you to capture more images with multi-shot burst mode camera. Then there is the VideoPic setting that allows users to capture bothvideos and images at thesame time. With theHTC ImageChip,the company claims that users can get great shots despite movement and poor lightingconditions. All this is fuelled by an 1800 mAh battery.

As per Engadget , thesuggested retail price forthe Desire 500 is NT$11,900 (roughly USD 400), which obviously is a little high consideringthe specifications.
